October 1, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
The outlook for TV ad revenues in Spain this year and next paints a gloomy picture.
A report from Zenith Media reveals that TV advertising on commercial TV channels will fall by 2.5 per cent this year, and by another 2.8 per cent in 2020.
TV ads in pay TV, however, will grow by 3.5 per cent this year and 4.1 per cent in 2020.
The new streaming platforms are taking a large piece of the ad take, with online video leading the growth in ad revenues with an estimated increase of 9 per cent this year and 9.6 per cent in 2020.
