Netflix: Lions vs Vikings most-streamed NFL game in US history

Netflix has reported its second NFL game on Christmas Day (December 25th), seeing the Detroit Lions take on the Minnesota Vikings, became the most-streamed NFL game in US history with an average of 27.5 million viewers across the country, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel.

The Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Commanders game that kicked off earlier on the day averaged 19.9 million US viewers. Netflix has now consequently distributed the top three most-streamed NFL games in US history.

Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party in the Lions vs Vikings game brought in an average of 29 millioin viewers in the US, with US viewership of NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix peaking at over 30 million viewers during the halftime show, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel.

Viewers from over 200 countries and territories tuned in to at least one of the games, with the Cowboys vs Commanders drawing a 22.4 million global AMA and the Lions vs Vikings garnering a 30.5 million global AMA.

This Christmas, NFL Christmas Gameday drove more than 632 million global owned social impressions, with Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party driving over 100 million impressions on Christmas Day. Additionally, Lions vs Vikings was the most socially consumed sporting event on Christmas Day.

2025 marked the second of a three-season partnership between Netflix and the NFL to broadcast NFL football games on Christmas Day.
