France: Canal+ to exclusively carry Disney+

The Disney+ streaming service on will launch exclusively on the Canal+ pay-TV platform in France next year. Talks between the two were revealed last month.
“This exclusive partnership is a new major step in the transformation of the Canal+ model,” said the French broadcaster’s chief executive, Maxime Saada, in an interview carried by daily Les Echos.
Saada didn’t reveal how much Canal+ would charge for Disney+.
“This exclusive partnership is a new major step in the transformation of the Canal + model”, said Saada. “We cannot yet reveal the price and our offers, but the value provided by Disney + is indisputable.”

Canal Plus has been Disney’s exclusive French licensing partner for several years, handling titles from the like ss of Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm.
Disney+ launches in France, as well as the UK and a number of other European regions, on March 31st.
