French pay-TV operator Canal+ Group, a leading provider of premium channels, is partnering with quad-play operator Orange to launch its latest set-top box with a complete Ultra-HD offering including:
- Live events: Top rugby and football matches with a new UHD experience
- Original productions in UHD
- A selection of UHD movies, series and documentaries
Content will be available live on Canal+ and Canal+ On demand
The service will be available for Canal+ subscribers equipped with an UltraHD/4K set via Orange Fibre.
The next live event will be the final of France’s Top14 rugby tournament live in Barcelona.
Canal + says the initiative maintains its pioneering role in technological innovation, and its entry into Ultra High Definition.
