LG targets 6m OLED shipments

South Korea’s LG Display says it expects to ship 6 million of its OLED TV screens this year, double the quantity of 2019.
Speaking at CES the LG divisional CEO Jeong Ho-young told the media that despite facing multiple difficulties at the company it would continue expanding its OLED and LCD businesses although the first-half of 2020 would remain difficult. Not helping is further delay in finalising the build of its Guangzhou facility in China.
Jeong was appointed only in September 2019 and the firm has since laid off hundreds of staff and many middle managers.
