Euskaltel, the fifth largest telco operator in Spain, is reportedly finalising an agreement with the UK’s Virgin Media to operate under its brand throughout Spain within its national expansion plans.

It follows on the heels of Euskaltel signing a deal with Orange to use its FTTH networks in the country.

Under the deal with Virgin, Euskaltel will keep its brand in Euskadi and Navarra, with Telecable and R, part of the Spanish telco, also using their brands in Asturias and Galicia. In the rest of the country, Euskaltel will operate as Virgin for a potential of 14 million homes. Euskaltel plans to capture 90,000 new customers by 2022.
