ProSiebenSat.1 taking Joyn overseas?
July 24, 2019
ProSiebenSat.1 is considering launching Joyn, its streaming joint venture with Discovery, in markets outside Germany,
ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Max Conze, speaking to WirtschaftsWoche, confirmed the news, saying the broadcaster is looking at taking the Joyn model elsewhere in Europe once the key features of the platform and the future premium offering were in place. He said that the broadcaster was contemplating a number of ideas for taking the concept to markets internationally, including licensing it or forming partnerships to launch national versions of Joyn in other countries.
Joyn launched in June, replacing the existing 7TV JV brand.
