UPC to purchase Fibernet stake

UPC Hungary, part of Liberty Global, is set to purchase a third of the cable television network of Fibernet Kommunikációs. The transaction could be completed in the first quarter of 2011 after receiving the approval of the competition office GVH. Fibernet provides cable television, broadband, Internet and telephone services to over 150,000 households. The purchase confirms UPC Hungary as the country’s leading provider.
