Fane’s OVM Group invests in KBJ Management
June 30, 2025
KBJ Management, the boutique talent agency, has announced that entrepreneur and CEO of the Fane Group, Alex Fane has joined its board as a shareholder. Fane, best-known as the founder and CEO of the globally successful events production company, has invested in KBJ through OVM Group: a new investment company focused on supporting and scaling outstanding management-led businesses.
Fane’s appointment signals a new phase of growth for KBJ Management, enabling the agency to expand its roster of news, factual and entertainment presenters and to create new opportunities for them across traditional and emerging platforms.
Boutique talent agency KBJ was established in 2000 by Joanna Kaye as a sister agency to PBJ Management, representing factual and news broadcasters. The KBJ client list includes many of Britain’s pre-eminent broadcasters, including Ed Balls, Mary Berry, Mishal Husain, Kevin McCloud, Louis Theroux and Lucy Worsley.
Company Director Joanna Kaye now takes a strategic role as Chair of KBJ, with Tracey MacLeod assuming the role of Managing Director, working alongside Director and Senior Agent Theia Nankivell. Chloe Gott, Senior Agent, takes on the new role of Head of Development and Jess Hardy continues in the role of Senior Agent for Brand and Commercial work.
Kaye said: “I am thrilled and proud that in this landmark year for KBJ Management, Alex Fane has given us his backing. It’s a real vote of confidence in what we do. At a time when so many other talent agencies are being forced to contract, we are moving in the opposite direction – and I can’t think of a better person than Alex to join us on the next phase of our journey. Alex brings exceptional energy, commercial insight, and a wealth of experience across the entertainment industry and perfectly complements our brilliant senior team of Tracey MacLeod and Theia Nankivell.”
Fane added: “I’ve long admired KBJ for their client-focused approach to business. I founded OVM to champion exceptional independent companies and I can’t think of a better place to start than with this outstanding team. Having spent the last eight years building the Fane Group, I’m excited to be part of a new venture which reflects my personal commitment to supporting bold, owner-led businesses.”
PBJ Management retains a stake in KBJ Management. Fane continues as CEO of the Fane Group, which operates entirely independently of KBJ and OVM.
