Andy Lack, a veteran of NBC News and currently Chairman of the operation, is to step down at the end of the month in a widespread corporate restructuring at NBC News. The announcement was made on May 4th.
Lack’s time at the helm of NBC News has not been without controversy, and one critic, Mia Farrow’s son Ronan Farrow in a Tweet welcomed the move by NBC.
Lack had previously said he would exit the broadcaster after the 2020 Presidential elections.
Lack will be replaced by current chairman of NBCUniversal International Group and Telemundo Cesar Conde, who will serve as chairman of the newly created NBCUniversal News Group, which will include NBC News, MSNBC and CNBC, a brand-new position created following the network’s recent reorganisation.
