Bezos builds war chest
February 11, 2020
By Chris Forrester
Last week Jeff Bezos sold a total of 1.7 million shares of his Amazon stockholdings, worth some $3.45 billion.
Overall, according to Bloomberg’s tally, Bezos has now disposed of stock worth more than $13 billion over the past 4 years. Much of this cash is being used to fund development work on his ‘Blue Origin’ rocket venture, and perhaps also to get his Project Kuiper satellite venture going.
Many of these share sales will be of vested ‘bonus’ stock. He still holds some 11 per cent of Amazon worth a spectacular $114.5 billion.
