OneWeb, together with support from US Senator Tim Kaine, has been in contact with the FCC, according to Space News.
They are urging the FCC to make a positive decision on a request made by OneWeb to orbit and extra 1260 satellites over and above the 720 already authorised.
OneWeb says it will need the extra capacity to expand its constellation after 2021.
The senator in his letter to the FCC asked that the FCC give full and fair consideration to OneWeb’s project which could benefit Americans across the country.
The FCC says it is giving OneWeb’s request its full consideration.
