James Murdoch acquires Vice Media stake
October 11, 2019
James Murdoch, the son of media mogul Rupert, has agreed to buy a minority stake in Vice Media Group via his private investment company, Lupa Systems, which launched earlier this year.
Murdoch has been on Vice Media’s board of directors since 2013. The digital media and broadcasting group specialises in millennial-skewed content.
Following news of the acquisition, The FT stated that Murdoch is “seeking to distance himself from the conservative outlets” that his father controls.
