Spain: 6% fall in TV advertising

Spain’s TV ad market is experiencing tough times with a sharp decline of 6 per cent in the first half of the year, according to the i2p report from consultancy firm Arce Media.
As of the end of June 2019, TV ad revenues amounted to €1.03 billion, down 6 per cent on the same period last year, a share of 45.3 per cent of the total ad pie, two points lower than the previous year.
The largest TV groups, Mediaset and Atresmedia, both experienced sharp drops. Mediaset’s revenues were down 7.5 per cent to €445.5 million, down €36 million. Atresmedia experienced a 5.4 per cent loss reaching €435 million versus €459.8 million the previous year.
