LE Rights acquires The Box Distribution
February 9, 2015
Lagardère Entertainment’s distribution company LE Rights has purchased The Box Distribution, an international distribution company headed by Frédérik Rangé.
Led by Emmanuelle Bouilhaguet, LE Rights is one of the largest distributors of television programs in Europe. By integrating The Box Distribution, LE Rights will boost its capacity to acquire programmes and formats on the market. Frédérik Rangé, while remaining managing director of The Box Distribution, will also become Head of Acquisitions at LE Rights.
The Box Distribution handles the international distribution of programs for various producers (La Parisienne d’Images, Label Image, KNTV among others) and owns the French-language rights for a number of foreign series-such as Fisica o Quimica, Der Letzte Bulle, Underbelly, The Sniffer, Hello Kitty, and more.
“In a world that’s increasingly fragmented, our strategy for strengthening distribution—already under way with LE Rights and Telmondis Distribution—is now and more than ever a major stake in Lagardère Entertainment’s global development,” affirms Takis Candilis, President of Lagardère Entertainment. “Now, with Frédérik Rangé on board and the acquisition of The Box Distribution, our group is pursuing its implementation. I am very pleased that Frédérik is bringing all his energy and talent to our group, especially in the acquisition of formats.”
