DirecTV Brazil adds HBO Go
August 1, 2012

DirecTV’s Brazilian ‘Sky’ DTH service is adding HBOs ‘Go’ broadband service in August. The service will be free to DirecTV subscribers provided they are taking HBO’s Max premium channels.
HBO says it is also talking to other regional players such as Net and GVT about tapping into ‘Go’ and a rights-cleared library of about 1000 titles including adult material plus its ‘catch up’ side which allows access to titles that have been broadcast between 24 and 48 hours previously.
HBO’s ‘Go’ service has been available in the US since 2010. Brazil is the first step in a Latino roll-out which is expected to reach Argentina next.
