Spain: Movistar’s O2 adds TV, Netflix

Movistar’s low cost O2 service in Spain is adding Movistar Plus+ and Netflix in an integrated offer that also includes broadband at 600 Mbps for €45 a month in an attempt to boost subscriptions and compete with the likes of Digi and other low cost platforms.
The news comes as Pepehone, a brand owned by MasOrange, is planning to launch Pepe TV with a pay-TV offer including football content. MásMóvil and Yoigo are also working on a new pay-TV offer that will replace their current Agile TV service.
Meanwhile, MasOrange is exploring a possible floatation on the Stock Market. Investment Funds KKR, Cinven and Providence Equity Partners (owners of MásMóvil) are reportedly in in “preliminary talks” over a Stock Market entrance from April 2026, according to the Financial Times.
