Amazon Leo satellites en route to French Guiana
November 27, 2025
A batch of Amazon Leo broadband-by-satellite craft are on their way to Arianespace’s launch site in French Guiana.
The satellites are set to be launched on an Ariane 64 version rocket. Satellites are transported in specialised, temperature-controlled containers en route to French Guiana, where they’ll be processed and integrated ahead of launch on the debut flight of an Ariane 64 rocket.
The satellites will launch during Q1 2026. The rocket is likely to carry at least 35 satellites. The mission will be the first of 18 contracted by Amazon to carry its Leo satellites to orbit.
The Amazon Leo constellation will eventually comprise 3,276 satellites.
Ahead of the French Guiana launch, a giant Atlas V rocket will carry 27 Amazon Leo satellites into orbit on December 15th from Florida.
Amazon has also revealed the capacity and size of its terrestrial antennas. They are:
• Nano (7×7″): Up to 100 Mbps, 2.2lbs
• Pro (11×11″): Up to 400 Mbps, 5.3lbs
• Ultra (20×30″): Up to 1Gbps, 43lbs
