September 7, 2015
ITV has revealed details of its dedicated Rugby World Cup 2015 app, which will launch with a host of interactive features and be available before the tournament kicks off on September 18th.
The app will include the latest news, expert analysis from the team of pundits, video highlights of every match, the best of social media, games, and the latest Opta data. Users can filter content by any chosen team to get quicker access to the content they want.
During match broadcasts, users can choose to switch to the app’s interactive live mode which allows them to play their part in the action, voting ‘Try’ or ‘No Try’ on crucial Television Match Official (TMO) decisions, for example, and having their say on other key moments as they happen.
Ashley Fletcher, ITV Online Product Manager, said: “Rugby World Cup 2015 is the sporting highlight of the year and we want our viewers to be at the heart of the action. Our app is a great way for fans to get even closer to games, interact with the programme and share and debate with fellow rugby fans.”
