Satellite dominates Brazil pay-TV delivery

Brazil’s pay-TV market is increasingly dominated by satellite delivered entertainment. The country’s regulator Anatel says at the end of August DTH technology accounted for 61.75 per cent of the nation’s subscribers.
DTH subs totalled 11.88 million, as at August 31st, up 100,000 from July’s 11.78 million.
Overall, the market generated a net new subscriber take-up of some 587,000 subscribers in the 6 months to August 31st.
