A SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket is scheduled to launch ViaSat-3 F3 on April 27th. The 85-minute launch window opens at 10:21 a.m. EDT at Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A), Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The Boeing-built satellite arrived in Florida on April 7th for pre-launch preparations.

ViaSat-3 F3 is the third satellite in Viasat’s new constellation and which will expand Viasat’s global network with more than 1 Tbps of throughput over the Asia-Pacific region. “Once the VS-3 satellite arrives in geostationary orbit, we’ll begin a complex sequence to deploy its reflectors over the coming weeks… Finally, we will complete deployments with the deployment of its north radiator,” stated Viasat.

Viasat added: “In addition, ViaSat-3 F2’s in-orbit testing is advancing with the reflector successfully completing bloom. We expect final deployments to be completed over the next several weeks.” Viasat said they expected F2 to be in service by the end of May.

“Once ViaSat-3 F3 is in service, the completed ViaSat-3 constellation will become a cornerstone of our unified, global, high-capacity network,” shared Mark Dankberg, Viasat Chairman & CEO.
