August 12, 2024

The First Slam Dunk, the animated movie that topped the Japanese box office in 2023, will be available to stream on Netlix in 75 countries from August 25th.
Netflix said that bringing The First Slam Dunk to the service is part of its ongoing efforts to expand its anime library. This addition joins other celebrated titles like Suzume and Studio Ghibli Films, providing a broader audience with the opportunity to discover anime from Japan.
The First Slam Dunk is based on the popular manga by Takehiko Inoue about a high school basketball team. Written and directed by Inoue himself, the movie depicts the last game that has never been animated before. The blockbuster hit has won many awards, including the Japan Academy Prize for Anime.
In Japan, the film started streaming on Netflix on June 10th.
