Dodds to donate $250,000 to charity if Verstappen doesn’t win
February 21, 2024
TNT Sports has aired an interview between Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, and Jermaine Jenas, Formula E’s Lead Presenter and former pro footballer, in which the former makes a huge statement on how predictable Formula 1 has become… a statement worth $250,000.
At the end of the interview, when discussing wider motorsport predictions, Jeff makes the wager of the year, stating: “If any one of the other 19 drivers win it, we’ll give a quarter of a million dollars to the charity of choice of the driver that does win it”
The proclamation aims to highlight the unpredictability of Formula E – especially when compared to F1 – and make a substantial donation to a charitable cause.
In Formula E, every season (with the exception of Jean-Éric Vergne’s double crown) a different driver has won the World Championship. So far, Season 10 has proven no different, with three different drivers, all from different teams being crowned champions of the first three races.
