SpaceX has secured a launch contract for Turksat-6A. It will be launched from Florida on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

Turksat-6A is the first satellite to be built domestically in Turkey and once in orbit will be used for commercial as well as governmental uses. The satellite should finish its build by the end of 2022 and be ready for launch in Q1 2023.

“The project’s engineering model integration activities are complete and the testing phase has begun,” Adil Karaismailoglu, minister of transport and infrastructure, said in a statement. “Before the end of this year, it’s expected that the satellite flight model integration activities will be completed and the environmental test phase will start.”
