Musk’s Starlink approved for Mexico

Elon Musk’s Starlink broadband-by-satellite system has been approved for activity in Mexico. Users can access the technology from October 28th and the licence will run for 10 years.
Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) received the Starlink application on April 2nd this year and the licence was granted on May 28th. The system must be operational within 180 days from May 28th.
The 10-year licence to operate can be extended by a further 10 years according to Starlink.
The Starlink service is talking of connection speeds of up to 1 Gb/s. Reuters has reported that Starlink’s service could be extended beyond the current ‘beta’ test this autumn.
The next Starlink multi-satellite launch will likely take place from Vandenberg Space Force Base later in July. The launch will place a batch of Starlink craft into polar orbits.
