Mediaset Spain secures Copa del Rey rights
November 11, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Mediaset Spain, operator of Tele 5 and Cuatro among other channels, has acquired the broadcast rights to the Copa del Rey (King’s Cup) for €80 million until the 2021-2022 season.
With the rights, Mediaset will be able to air the football matches from the Copa del Rey tournament in Spain and throughout Europe.
Mediaset had little trouble in acquiring the rights following Mediapro’s decision to pull out of the bidding as a result of its conflict with the Spanish Football Federation.
