Euskaltel appoints Iturbe

The Euskaltel Group’s Board of Directors have unanimously appointed Xabier Iturbe Otaegi to the position of non-executive chairperson of the Group, as proposed by the Appointments and Remunerations Committee. He takes over from Alberto García Erauzkin, who has been in the role since 2011.
Iturbe has held management positions in leading companies in both the telecommunications and finance industries and for more than 10 years he has been a member of various boards of directors and has sat on the governing bodies of several foundations. He was previously appointed to the role of chairperson of Kutxa (2008-2014) and first vice-chairperson of Kutxabank S.A. (from 2012 to the present). At the same time (from 2014 to 2016), he was chair of the Kutxa Banking Foundation.
The Board of Directors thanked Alberto García Erauzkin for his “dedication and essential contribution to the Euskaltel project over the past 21 years, during which time he has led the company from different positions of responsibility”.
