UTA, DPP partner for new production conference in LA

June 2, 2026

The DPP has announced the launch of Production Now, a new Los Angeles based event created in partnership with UTA. It will take place on August 13th at UTA’s Beverly Hills HQ. Designed for senior decision-makers across studios, streamers, production companies, creators and technology businesses, the event explores the forces reshaping the content economy.

“The DPP is renowned for its ability to bring together all parts of the content supply chain,” says DPP Founder and Chief Content Officer Mark Harrison. “LA remains right at the heart of every change taking place in media and entertainment. So it’s the perfect time and place to curate a conversation that accepts those changes as a reality, and centers on the opportunities they create.”

“The DPP has long been a devoted steward of media and entertainment and is known for bringing together the best thought leaders to discuss important industry shifts at the right moments,” commented UTA Chief Technology Officer Eric Iverson. “With the advent of new generative media and assistive AI tools for production, we find ourselves at one of those critical junctures. The fundamentals of great storytelling will never change, but now is the perfect time to explore how creative technology advances can help us tell those stories in new ways.”

Production Now is built around the defining question facing the media and entertainment industry today. As the form, funding, ownership and distribution of content are all changing, where does the real value now sit?

“The world of content creation and distribution is in perpetual flux for both new and established players,” said Harrison.. “This event brings those players together on the same stage to share and debate the forces at work and what they mean for entertainment.”

The speaker line-up announced so far includes voices from YouTube, Tubi, Fox Entertainment, Blumhouse, Secret Level, Smosh, Microsoft and Dhar Mann Studios, alongside creators such as Colin and Samir and Kasey Esser – with further speakers to be announced.
