Germany: o2 Telefónica, Crunchyroll collaboration
October 15, 2025
o2 Telefónica in Germany has announced a new working relationship with Crunchyroll. The collaboration will see Crunchyroll fully integrated into the customer ecosystem of o2 Telefónica, offering access to a dedicated anime library for all o2 mobile and broadband customers.
Under the agreement, o2 customers can add a Crunchyroll subscription directly to their o2 account, with billing seamlessly managed by o2. Crunchyroll will be featured alongside the brand’s portfolio of streaming and gaming services and integrated directly into the o2 customer sign-up journey.
To celebrate the launch, o2 will introduce a limited-time bundle offer for its o2 TV customers. From October 15th, new o2 TV subscribers will receive three free months of Crunchyroll’s ‘Fan’ tier offering alongside one free month of o2 TV. This exclusive promotion will run for three months. Crunchyroll will be the sole partner included in this o2 TV promotion, following similar offers previously run with key partners.
After the initial launch phase, from the first of November o2 Telefónica will also feature Crunchyroll within its loyalty programme Priority. Through this campaign, existing o2 customers will have the opportunity to subscribe to Crunchyroll’s ‘Fan’ tier offering via a special offer.
“Our new relationship with o2 will increase the accessibility of anime across Germany,” said Terry Li, Crunchyroll’s Executive Vice President of Emerging Business. “By becoming part of the o2 ecosystem, we are making it even easier for fans across the country to enjoy the best of anime and discover new series through a trusted, seamless experience.”
“Anime is no longer a niche trend, but an integral part of modern pop culture, also in Germany. With Crunchyroll, we are making the leading streaming service for anime available to all o2 customers. This allows us to offer our customers even more choice and entertainment, tailored to their interests,” added Markus von Böhlen, Director of Devices, Trading & Digital Life at O₂ Telefónica.
