Spitting Image returning with vodcast series
July 4, 2025
Spitting Image will return to screens on September 19th with a new YouTube series titled Spitting Image: The Rest Is Bulls*!t.
The satirical comedy series will consist of specially created, original short-form vodcast episodes, for “all those wanting to laugh in the face of these anxiety-inducing times of global conflict, unhinged world leaders and megalomaniac Fin Tech bosses”. Puppets set to feature in the series include Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Paddington Bear, Prince Harry, Keir Starmer and many more.
The new series will be led creatively by Al Murray and Matt Forde – two of the writers of the stage show Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image The Musical.
The BAFTA and Emmy award-winning satirical Spitting Image television series originally ran for 18 seasons between 1984 and 1996 and was watched by over 15 million viewers. In 2020 it made a return to TV via (the since disbanded UK streaming service) BritBox.
Spitting Image: The Rest Is Bulls*!t is produced by Avalon, the producer and director is Matt Stronge, and it is executive produced by Richard Allen-Turner, Jon Thoday and Roger Law.
