Tele2 upgrades Boxer’s TV services
August 14, 2024

Sweden’s Tele2, which owns Boxer, has gradually been replacing its customers’ programme cards with the new WiFi-based TV solution Tv Hub Mini. During autumn 2024, Boxer will contact all remaining customers in order to upgrade them before December 31st.
Customers who still have Boxer’s programme card will have these replaced with Tv Hub Mini, which has a larger selection and easier access to the streaming services included in Boxer’s TV package.
“TV plays an important role in many people’s lives, and we want to help our customers in starting up the Tv Hub effortless. We have developed clear and educational instructions and offer on-site installation assistance for those who wish, which has been appreciated,” says Niclas Rosendahl, Director Entertainment at Tele2.
“Since 2023, Boxer has successively contacted affected customers. Terrestrial distribution will end on December 31st, but the majority of customers have already switched to the Tv Hub Mini and are therefore not affected. The remaining customers will be upgraded in autumn 2024. Focusing our resources on the technology that the majority of our customers already use is natural for us. All technology needs to be upgraded sooner or later, and this is a big improvement for our customers to consume their favourite content. If you want to watch linear TV just like before, the new technology works great, and if you want to use play services and apps, that is now also possible,” added Rosendahl.
With the Tv Hub Mini, users can watch TV channels in 4K HDR quality and streaming services in the same place, and browse the channels with the remote control or zap by voice control. Some of the most popular apps, like Netflix and YouTube, are already pre-installed, and users can download and add others from the Google Play Store. Tv Hub Mini has built-in Chromecast and bluetooth so users can stream directly from their tablet or mobile phone.
