September 6, 2022
DTVKit, a global shared-source software player, has joined the RDK Technical Advisory Board (RTAB.) RDK is an open source software platform, with its deployment exceeding 80 million devices worldwide.
Joining the RDK Technical Advisory Board further cements DTVKit’s working relationship with RDK. It will enable tighter integration of DTVKit DVB software into the RDK ecosystem whilst allowing RDK to have an input on future DTVKit features and software. The joint promotion of both party’s respective software to the RDK and DTVKit software communities is a valuable aspect of this.
Members of the RDK Technical Advisory Board (RTAB) are experienced RDK advocates and contributors committed to driving innovation and technical roadmap development for the RDK community.
DTVKit’s DVB Core is already pre-integrated with the RDK which includes full support for RDK4 architecture enabling RDK applications to use DVB features via the RDK Thunder microservices layer.
Phil Evans, Managing Director of DTVKit, said: “The close cooperation between DTVKit and RDK is important for the future development of hybrid solutions as Operator OEMs look to reduce time to market and maintenance costs.”
Jason Briggs, President and General Manager of RDK, added: “DTVKit works to ensure its solutions are kept up to date with the latest market requirements and innovations to help maximise the benefit to its members. RDK shares that same mission. We are honored to strengthen our collaboration with DTVKit and welcome them as a member of the RDK Technical Advisory Board.”
