The latest movie from Nickelodeon icon SpongeBob SquarePants has landed directly on Netflix in Europe.
The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run was scheduled for a global theatrical release this summer before the pandemic put an end to that. Paramount then agreed a deal with Netflix to debut the movie on the streaming platform everywhere except the US, Canada and China.
In the US, the film will be available through CBS All Access in early-2021, whilst in Canada, where the pandemic is largely under control, the movie has enjoyed a cinema release.
The movie, available on Netflix in the UK and Europe immediately, is the fourth from the long-running SpongeBob SquarePants franchise, and features cameos from the likes of Matt Berry, Keanu Reeves, Awkwafina, Danny Trejo and Snoop Dogg
