Gracenote launches Streaming Sports Catalogs

Gracenote, a Nielsen company, is creating new opportunities for video services seeking to leverage sports content. With the launch of Gracenote Streaming Sports Catalogs, TV providers in the US can now connect fans to live games and related content available across different OTT sources.
“The rapid rise of OTT services and platforms is causing all new complexity for sports fans seeking to watch their favorite teams play in real-time and find related content,” said Simon Adams, Chief Product Officer of Gracenote. “Implementing our breakthrough Streaming Sports Catalogs solution, TV providers can connect sports programming to its most fervent fans creating powerful new engagement opportunities.”
At launch, Streaming Sports Catalogs covers games played by major North American leagues including professional football, basketball, baseball and hockey on leading OTT platforms. The product also spans popular sports such as tennis and golf which attract fans in Europe and around the globe. Coverage expansion will be continually ongoing. The end goal of the offering is to include every available sporting event from mainstream to longtail across all streaming services.
