Colombia’s Caracol TV makes 4K commitment

Catalina Porto, executive manager of production at Caracol Television, speaking at the MIP-Cancun event, says that by next year the broadcaster will have 17 different 4K productions coming from its studios.
“We are the only provider in Colombia that has the complete 4K workflow, including post-production, scoring, colourisation,” she said.
“We are currently experiencing a very important moment in the industry, with the theme of the orange economy tax incentives for TV have expanded. We have been preparing and Caracol has played a fundamental role, with investment in infrastructure, training and education. We have 2,000 direct and 7,000 indirect jobs in Caracol,” she added.
