Vodafone Spain revenues and subs down
July 29, 2019
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Spain’s football TV war and its low cost promotions have hit Vodafone’s results in the first quarter with a 10.3 per cent fall in its revenues to €1.08 billion. Revenues per service also dropped by 9.3 per cent to €988 million.
In terms of subscribers, Vodafone ended June with 1.29 million pay TV subscribers, losing 24,000 in the quarter. According to the company, the launch of five thematic packages with cinema and TV series as the main content has avoided a massive subscriber decrease for lack of football.
Vodafone has 3.2 million broadband customers, out of which 2.9 million are FTTH subscribers, up 89,000 on a year ago. The company has 23 million FTTH homes passed.
