According to Dataxis research, the global installed base for 4K STBs grew to 31 million units at the end of 2017, compared to only 3 million units in 2015.

Operators around the world are deploying more and more 4K boxes, which is reflecting in the global numbers.

Europe is growing at the fastest rate accounting for 52 per cent of the total 4K boxes in 2017, followed by Asia-Pacific excluding China (32 per cent), North and Latin America (5 per cent), Middle-East (4 per cent) and Africa (1 per cent).
