Disenchantment draws big for Netflix
August 30, 2018
Netflix launched Disenchantment on its service on August 17th to much fanfare. The animated series – from Simpsons creator Matt Groening – was seen as a huge coup for the streaming giant, and early viewing figures are promising.
US audience figures, provided by Nielsen, show that the series’ pilot episode drew an average minute audience of 4.4 million viewers in its first three days on Netflix, with 60 per cent of them male. As a whole, the average viewing numbers for the 10-episode first season reached 6.6 million.
For comparison, that number is slightly above than the 6.4 million who watched Netflix’s bid budget, live-action Lost in Space series.
