Movistar has launched the campaign #MeetMovistarHome to raise awareness of the advantages of Movistar Home, its virtual assistant (VA) service, which will launch in October.
Additionally, Movistar is reportedly in talks with Google to integrate Google Home into its own VA, creating one system exclusive to Movistar subscribers.
Voz Populi confirmed the negotiations quoting the Enterprise Director of Google for Spain and Portugal, Isaac Hernandez, who said: “We are talking with Telefónica and other operators to integrate both Google Home and our voice assistant Google Assistant into their offer to their customers. They are initial talks but there are good feelings. It makes sense that these solutions are interoperable”
Meanwhile, Spaniards will be able to test the VA in Telefónica’s shops in different cities. The service, equipped with the digital voice app Aura, will allow subscribers to manage the convergent services and others with their voice. Among other things, subscribers will be able to change the TV channel, order a film and ask for recommendations.
The company plans to launch internationally through its platforms at a later phase.
