Viacom producing Nickelodeon show for Netflix
June 22, 2018
Viacom has announced it will be producing a Nickelodeon-branded show to be exclusively streamed on Netflix.
Viacom CEO Bob Bakish, speaking to The Information, said Viacom is seeking out new ways to make money despite some risk: Such a move could indeed further drive audiences towards Netflix rather than Viacom’s own cable networks.
Bakish hopes to make more shows for other streaming services and mobile carriers through its flagship networks, which also includes MTV and Comedy Central. “We are in a range of conversations with all of the people that are widely seen as buying content that crosses both the streaming video space as well as other areas,” he said.
