Orange offers all Spanish football on TV for €1
August 8, 2017
From David Del Valle in Madrid
The Spanish football TV price war has entered a new stage with Orange offering La Liga and La Copa del Rey (King’s Cup) for €1 a month from September for the whole 2017-2018 season.
With the start of La Liga on August 18, Orange is launching the package Orange TV Fútbol for €1 including all football matches from the national Leagues (First and Second Divisions), now for free during August. All subscribers to the cinema package will only pay €1. Those with no subscription to that package will pay €9.95.
Orange has been the first to offer this promotion but its rivals Telefónica and Vodafone are likely to move with the tide over the next weeks to capture subscribers in a war that casts doubts on the profitability of this type of content.
