Envivio, the experts in multi-screen video software solutions, have announced that Chunghwa Telecom, the Taiwanese telco serving more than 30 million broadband, mobile and fixed line subscribers, has selected Envivio video solutions for its 4K HEVC streaming service trial.
In the trial, Envivio is using its Muse Ultra HD software to support two modes of 4K HEVC delivery to a wide range of devices for Chunghwa Telecom: VoD content delivered via unicast transfer method, and NVoD through multicast to HwaCom set-top boxes.
“We chose Envivio as our video solutions provider based on its extensive expertise as pioneers in video processing and delivery software, as well as their support of next-generation formats and standards like 4K and HEVC,” said a Chunghwa Telecom executive. “Leveraging the HEVC standard, Envivio is able to efficiently compress 4K content without losing video quality, making it easier and more affordable for us to deliver the highest quality video available to our consumers.”
