France Télévisions records Ultra-HD concert

French public broadcaster France Télévisions has captured a major concert in Ultra-HD. France Télévisions is a member of the 4EVER consortium of nine partner organisations designed to research 4K production and workflows.
The concert, of the Claudio Monteverdi’s Vêpres Solennelles de la Vierge (in association with Wahoo Production and Château de Versailles Spectacle, took place on March 9th.
It was filmed as a Multicam Ultra-HD video recording with 8 Ultra-HD cameras and an OB truck (equipped by AMPvisualTV, in partnership with Thalès-Angénieux and Fujinon). The concert will also be recorded as a 3D binaural sound recording will be conceived by Thomas Dappelo, along with a team from the French BiLi project.
Conducted by Sir John Elliot Gardiner, this concert took place in the Royal Chapel of Versailles.
The event will be transmitted live at the Royal Chapel and then on the France Télévisions’s website, Culturebox.
