Mexico pay-TV up 17%

Mexico’s pay-TV is on a roll, and is growing by some 16.9 per cent annually, according to regulator Cofetel. At June 30th Cofetel says that pay-TV had exceeded 14 million subscribers.
DTH continues to expand its market share, growing by 17.8 per cent in the half-year compared with 2012 and reached 7.3 million connected homes.
Cable also grew, reaching 6.9 million homes but growing ‘only’ by 13.6 per cent.
MMDS is dying, and saw cancellations of 13.7 per cent during the half-year.
