BT Wholesale extends Sky deal
February 7, 2012
BT Wholesale has won a six year renewal of a contract to provide its Television Outside Broadcast service to Sky Sports.
The TVOB service – part of BT Wholesale’s Media and Broadcast arm – provides temporary outside broadcast vision, audio and data links from remote venues into Sky Studios, Sky’s state-of-the-art broadcast facility, for onward transmission to millions of Sky Sports subscribers across the UK and Ireland.
The contract will provide live coverage for Sky Sports using BT Wholesale’s comprehensive optical fibre based network, satellite or microwave from UK based venues, managed and monitored by a dedicated TVOB engineering team based at BT Tower.
