Toshiba adopts MStar HbbTV solution
November 15, 2011
MStar Semiconductor, a semiconductor company for display and digital home solutions, has revealed its solution is being adopted by Toshiba in its new TL & RL TV series which are currently being released.
With MStar’s solution and support, the TL & RL series will enable the user to merge broadcast TV network and broadband contents through HbbTV technology. Additionally the sets also incorporate Mstar’s Motion Compensation technology together with “Toshiba Places”, a Toshiba designed portal to deliver consumers user experience on VoD and Internet services. Selected sets also incorporate MStar’s DVB-T2 demodulator.
Through the adoption of HbbTV, consumers will be able to access new services from entertainment providers such as broadcasters, online providers and CE manufactures – including catch-up TV, VoD, interactive advertising, personalisation, voting, games and social networking as well as programme-related services such as digital text and EPGs.
