Sony: YouView not for us
July 8, 2011
YouView has lost support from Sony which said that it would not be linking to the service in its connected Bravia TV sets. It is a blow to the BBC originated service as it tries to strike deals with connected TV makers. The VoD service was supposed to launch this summer, but now that start date has been held over to sometime next year.
Sony’s decision comes after Technicolor dropped out of YouView last month. YouView now has only six partners who’ve said they’ll include the service in their technology.
