Argentina promotes ISDB TV sales
June 6, 2011
By Chris Forrester
This month sees the implementation of Argentina’s new ISDB-based digital broadcasting technology. Already its signals are reaching 17 districts of the country. Next up is promoting the use of ISDB-equipped TV sets, which are now becoming available.
Argentina’s president Christina Fernandez says by the end of June more than 100 different TV models will be available each fitted with an ISDB tuner.
Retailers are being encouraged to offer attractive buying prices, with high discounts, to motivate buyers. A major spur will be the upcoming Copa America soccer championship being held in Argentina from July 1-24.
