September 10, 2010
Viaccess has announced a new generation smart card, PC5, designed to fight the latest forms of piracy, including Control Word (CW) sharing, regardless of the distribution network. The PC5 smart card is specifically designed to combat the current piracy market and to continue to protect the assets of Viaccess’ Pay-TV clients. This reinforces Viaccess’ strategy to supply customers with a new card every 24 months to remain a step ahead of piracy.
