April 20, 2009
Semiconductor specialist Broadcom has confirmed that its BCM3380 family of channel bonding cable modem silicon solutions has received EuroDOCSIS 3.0 certification in EuroCertWave 34 and DOCSIS 3.0 certification in CertWave 65 with customer submitted data and voice modems.
With the Euro certification, the BCM3380 family becomes the first and only silicon solution certified as both EuroDOCSIS and DOCSIS 3.0 compliant. "Our goal with the BCM3380 silicon family of data and voice modems is to enable the highest performing and most cost-optimised DOCSIS 3.0 and EuroDOCSIS 3.0 solutions," said Jay Kirchoff, Senior Director of Product Marketing for Broadcom's Cable Modem line of business. "As the only globally compliant solution, we see operators around the world taking advantage of the significant increase in download speeds offered by our eight channel solution."
